The Do’s and Don’ts When Becoming An Egg Donor with Conceptual Options

Congratulations! You’ve decided to become an Egg Donor and bless the lives of others. You will be performing perhaps the most generous act possible as you help others build a family. There is no other gift that is comparable to the gift of life.

Does donating eggs have a few restrictions while you are in the middle of your cycle? Sure. But that’s also why you’re compensated: to make up for the inconvenience and cover you for whatever discomfort that may incur.

If you’re considering becoming an Egg Donor or you’ve just signed your contract to be one, here are a few helpful hints when it comes to the do’s and do not’s of Egg Donation:

1. Don’t Smoke Weed

Weed: green is the new……green. We understand that many young women like to occasionally use cannabis for relaxation or pain. However, once you sign your cycle agreement, is essential that you stop smoking cannabis immediately.

If you continue to do so, it will show up and the regular blood work that needs to be performed, and it can result in a cancelation of a cycle. This is because no positive drug test can come back to the IVF clinic on your behalf.

If you feel like you have a dependency on weed, please state that to our wonderful team when applying.

2. Do Take Care

Take care of yourself during your egg donor cycle. You will be on hormones, and sometimes you will feel a little bloated. However, if you are performing a cycle in another city, then you will certainly have per diem, and you should take yourself to dinner.

And, another option – relax at your hotel, and get a massage. Do whatever you need to do to ensure that you are cared for during your egg donor cycle. This will help you have a smooth and easy egg retrieval and also help you recover quickly.

3. Zika Zika

You’ve probably already stated in your application if you have been to a country with a risk of zika infections. However, if you are signed on as a donor, do not go to a zika infected region. This includes Mexico! Steer clear until you have performed your cycle.

Going to a zika region will likely result in having your egg donation cycle pushed back by six months.

4. Do Ask Questions

It is better to be informed than to be left wondering what the next step is or if something is permitted during your cycle. Please, ask us all of the questions you want, and let us help you make a sound decision for a healthy cycle.

If you are wondering when or where you can travel, give us a call and we can steer you in the right direction (or to the right zika free zone).

Cycle On

During your cycle, there will be plenty of information and dos and do not’s. However, if you have any concerns or want more information, reach out to us at anytime. We are here to make sure you are cared for and feel comfortable and confident.
